In addition to our electrical and mechanical engineers, Glen Hydro Consulting is one of the few hydro consultancies which has its own civils design team. This gives us the ability to carry out all of the civils detailed design of our schemes in-house. As the development of the optimum design of a hydro scheme is an iterative process, we are able to incorporate the development of the civils design as the design of the scheme evolves.
We have found this to give us several advantages:
- Our hydro engineers and civil design engineers have developed a strong working relationship, allowing optimum designs to be found efficiently
- Solutions and improvements can be discussed among the team quickly – from site if necessary
- We are in control of our resources, priorities and timescales and can ensure deadlines are met
